For a long time, research was only interested in those envoy reports that talked about alliances, peace agreements or diplomatic negotiations. Here a praxeological perspective directs the inquiring gaze to the reports themselves - to the reports as artifacts, to the reporting practices and the handling of the reports. Diplomatic communication can thus be understood in terms of its everyday practice.
