There are two groups to these elite, those in the financial world who initiated the action, and those in the political arena, primarily Republicans who slowly redirected the flow of prosperity to the top tenth of one percent. In this, they were guided by the errant economic belief of Milton Friedman that promised wealth for all. However, change is urgently needed, and the book proposes a new direction, a correction that reverses what the power elite have done.
