The archive of Senouthios anystes (c. 643-644) represents the largest group of documents preserved for the time following the Arab conquest of Egypt. The 62 edited texts (Greek text, translation, commentary, general introduction and indexes) document the changes brought by the conquest, the relations between the Christian population of Egypt and the Arabs, and how this interaction stimulated the new social and administrative reality.
