The German-language culture magazine "Im Herzen Europa" was published in Prague and pursued the goal of making Czechoslovak culture known in German-speaking countries and strengthening relations with Austria and Germany in a cultural-diplomatic mission. In this volume of the series "Intellectual Prague in the 19th and 20th Century", Hélène Leclerc dedicates herself to the history of the magazine and its function as a diplomatic instrument in Czechoslovak-German and Czechoslovak-Austrian relations, as well as the role of the writer and journalist Lenka Reinerová, who as editor-in-chief of "Im Herzen Europa" had a significant influence.
