The book provides an overview of the important film cultural cooperation between the two regions and has simultaneously a documentary attached. In 2014 this cooperation celebrate 25th anniversary. Same year the Riga European Capital of Culture. The book is published with this as a backdrop. It consists of a collection of essays, edited by Jan Erik Holst and published in English. To book follows a DVD of the classical Latvian documentary Homeland depicting the historical background in all three countries before the peaceful revolution in 1989. The film contains unique material and is rewarded with the European Film Academy award for Best Documentary.
