Menas moderniai šaliai moderniame mieste: Kauno meno mokyklai 100 (Nr. 112) / Art in a Modern City for a Modern State: Celebrating 100 Years of the Kaunas School of Art (Vol 112)

Kauno meno mokykla 2022 m. šventė 100 metų jubiliejų. Jam paminėti buvo skirta tarptautinė mokslo konferencija, vykusi Kaune 2022 m. rugsėjo 15–16 d. Ją inicijavo Vilniaus dailės akademijos Kauno fakultetas ir Dailėtyros institutas, Kauno kolegijos Menų akademija, bendradarbiauta su Nacionaliniu M. K. Čiurlionio dailės muziejumi. Pranešimus skaitė per 20 Lietuvos ir kitų šalių mokslininkų bei meno tyrėjų.

Konferencija tapo pagrindiniu atspirties tašku naujoms įžvalgoms ir moksliniams straipsniams atsirasti. Nuo Kauno meno mokyklos įkūrimo čia puoselėti dailės edukacijos procesai, jų įkvėpta meninė tradicija Lietuvoje išgyveno daugybę virsmų, kuriuos lėmė įvairialypiai XX a. lūžiai. Leidinyje naujai apmąstoma Kauno meno mokykloje suformuotų tradicijų kilmė ir pobūdis; aptariamos sąveikos su modernizmo sąjūdžio idėjomis; prisimenama šios mokyklos istorija, jos ištakos, raida; išryškinamos paralelės su kitomis XX a. pirmos pusės Europos meno mokyklomis, ypač įkurtomis panašiu metu.

The centenary celebration of the Kaunas School of Art in 2022 was marked by an international scholarly conference held on September 15–16, 2022, in Kaunas. The conference, organized by the Kaunas Faculty and the Institute of Art Research of the Vilnius Academy of Arts, along with the Academy of Arts of the Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution, in collaboration with the M.K. Čiurlionis National Museum of Art, aimed to commemorate this milestone anniversary.

The conference served as a pivotal catalyst for generating fresh in-sights and scholarly articles. Since its inception, the Kaunas School of Art has been a nurturing ground for art education processes, fostering a rich artistic tradition that has undergone numerous transformations in Lith-uania, shaped by the multifaceted shifts of the 20th century. This public-ation offers a new perspective on the origins and essence of the traditions cultivated at the Kaunas School of Art. It delves into the interactions with the tenets of the modernist movement, retraces the history of the Kaunas School of Art from its beginnings to its evolution, and draws parallels with other European art schools of the first half of the 20th century, particularly those established around the same time.
