Olaf Völker uses the medical files of the sanatoriums and nursing homes in Alzey and "Philippshospital" Riedstadt Goddelau as well as the midwifery school in Mainz to trace the history of the inmates who were forcibly sterilized in Mainz between 1933 and 1945 using a collective biographical approach. In a memorial documentation, 14 biographies were created from the archive material, in which the women and the injustice they suffered are documented in more detail. Through a supplementary content analysis, the biographical material is related to the findings of the collective biographical analysis and a text is generated that can be read both as a testimony and as scientific documentation and is intended to remind of the victims of the suffering decreed under the guise of medicine.
